Mansaf

Mansaf is a dish of rice, lamb, and jameed -a tangy dried yogurt sauce, with nuts and shrak (a type of bread) also commonly present. It’s not only one of the most beloved Jordanian foods, but it’s also considered the national dish of Jordan. Deeply rooted into Jordanian culture, Mansaf is more than just a meal! Mansaf is so important to Jordanians that it’s been known to resolve conflicts and restore peace within tribes in Jordan. It is often shared at celebrations, parties, family get-togethers, and festivals. So, if there was only one dish you must try when you visit Jordan it is definitely Mansaf!
